There’s no rule book that says that weddings have to follow a particular format, or that “z” must follow “y” must follow “x” etc etc, you get my drift! No sir, you know you can pretty much do what you want – it is your day after all :-).So, how pleased was I when I got to shoot Leah & Ross’ big day back in June on my second visit to the fabulous Pratis Barns in Fife.
Taking the Amercian approach of a bride & groom “first look” before the ceremony, the guys decided to meet each other before the ceremony and chill with their close family and friends at the venue, taking the time also to get all the “formal” (I use that word loosely) group shots done too. And you know what that meant…yep, more time after the ceremony to enjoy the party…hell, well if that isn’t just my strap line on my homepage! And with no formal speeches either…genuis :-)…who really wants to speak in public anyway LOL.
Looking back to these images just now reminded me what a truly fabulous day it was…after all, I guess that’s what pictures are meant to do, yeah. The guys even brought along their German Shepherd, Edie, for a few shots, although the attempt to get the rings balanced on the nose was maybe just a step too far LOL (although I believe this had been achieved in training)! Quite timely, I recently received this little message from the guys…
Mike did our wedding photography back in June and we highly recommend him if you are looking for a photographer for your big day!
We met with him and picked our package over a year before the wedding and he was always friendly, professional and promt with communication on the run up to the wedding. On the day he was very relaxed and just did his thing! He made sure we got all the pictures we had requested and came up with some brilliant ideas for shots that turned out to be some of our favourites! He was even lying in the grass at one point to get the perfect angle! We got our pictures within the time he stated and love them.
If you want a relaxed documentary style with a professional photographer that puts you at ease, book Mike! Oh, and he even coped with getting a picture with our crazy dog!
Leah & Ross, 8th September 2019
And yeah, I do lie on the ground…a lot :-).
Leah & Ross, thank you very much for choosing me to shoot your fabulous day..you guys rocked it and the barn setting was just perfect for the concept of your day!. Here’s a few of my favourite shots which I hope you all like and here’s to more weddings like this!!!
Looking for some “Ninja Style” Wedding Photography?
If you’re on the look-out for a wedding photographer (or know someone who is), then you may just like my “ninja style” (a couple’s words, not mine) low key approach to the day! Most couples tell me they didn’t even notice me for the majority of the day and that suits me…it is your wedding day after all, not a photo-shoot! But, I will always make time for a very small number of family group shots and also, a short bride & groom shoot and here, it’s my aim to provide you with some truly fabulous pictures :-). To know more about my wedding day approach to how I shoot weddings, just click here.
I’m mainly taking bookings now for 2021…but I do have a limited number of 2020 dates still available too.
Full day coverage collections start at £1500…but don’t forget my cheeky wee discount where you can save up to £500 :-).
Oh, and please do feel free to leave a comment at the bottom of the page, as I do really love to know what you think :-).
