Back with a bang on the blog today and, this time around, I’ve got a cracker for you guys from back in March when, for part two of my wedding “double header” weekend, I ventured into Edinburgh to shoot Lynsey & Matthew’s big day at the fabulous Ghille Dhu.
I’d chatted to the guys when they booked with me and they were very much on board with my primarily “hands-off” approach to the day, preferring to enjoy the day to the max without stopping for posed pictures every few minutes. That’s not to say we didn’t do any at all, as the guys had booked a slot across the road at the Johnnie Walker roof top bar for a few shots (that’s “shots” as in pictures, not drinks!), with Edinburgh Castle providing the backdrop.
Thankfully, the early morning rain had stopped mid-afternoon, allowing us to get outside the venue for a confetti shot before dinner and also a quick flashlit shoot post-dinner before the party really kicked into gear, probably the last nighttime shots I’ll do for a while now that the days are longer, to coin a phrase!
What an incredible day and, as usual, I’ll leave the pictures to tell the story. And, as a wee bonus guys, I’ve also created a reel for this one … scroll down a bit for a look!!! Lucky Man by The Verve was the guys’ first dance song and also happens to be one of my favourites too – so much so that I can still remember to this day where I was and what I was doing the first time I heard it (washing the dishes in my flat in North London to be precise – how glamorous!).
The guys were kind enough to write a little review for me also …
“Mike captured the most amazing memories on our wedding day. He has an exceptional talent. He provided a very “ninja” style; very discreet with us, as well as with all our guests. Everyone felt so natural. The photos are captured in such a candid stye that we love.
We loved how Mike helped guide us on our day and made the whole experience relaxing and enjoyable. Thank you for capturing the most wonderful photographs. We highly recommend you.”
Lynsey & Matthew, thank you very much for choosing me to shoot your fabulous wedding day! Here’s a few of my own favourite shots which I hope you all like.
Please do leave a comment though … it’s very much appreciated 🙂 – there’s a comment box right at the end of the pics!
