Honestly guys, by some modern day miracle, I continue to be bang up to date with blogging, and long may it continue as I hurtle through my busiest period of the year – weddings every weekend (sometimes two) for the past five weeks and the next five upcoming too – boy, I’ll need that holiday come mid October.
So, a few weeks ago then, I was out and about on my first ever visit to Duntarvie Castle to shoot Tania & Kenny’s big day. Many times I’ve driven along the M9 out of Edinburgh and wondered what was this castle restoration going on up on the hill, all lit up at night and everything … and now I know! Dating back to the 16th century, the castle will eventually host weddings once the restoration allows but, for now, the adjacent marquee and surrounding grounds are the go to.
Come the day itself, well, what glorious weather we got – don’t think there’ll be too many of those kind of days left this year now! As is customary, I adopted my usual low-key candid approach, stopping only for a few group shots before dinner and one very short couple shoot afterwards … just the way I like doing things, leaving plenty of time to capture all those real, candid moments that I love … and there were certainly plenty of those, especially come the dancing!
Tania & Kenny, thank you very much for choosing me to shoot your fabulous wedding day! Here’s a few of my own favourite shots which I hope you all like.
Please feel free to leave a comment if you like … it’s very much appreciated 🙂 – there’s a comment box right at the end of the pics!

Like what you see … want to book me?
If you’re getting married (or know someone who is), then you may just like my “ninja style” (a couple’s words, not mine) low key approach to the day! Most couples tell me they didn’t even notice me for the majority of the day and that suits me … it is your wedding day after all, not a photo-shoot!
My style is very unposed, unfussy and focuses more on documenting your day rather than directing it. Minimal group shots (or even none at all if you prefer) and short couple shoots allow you spend more of the day with the people that matter and have a total blast!
For the past two years, I’ve been recognised by the WPJA as Scotland’s top ranked wedding photojournalist, so you know you’re in safe hands :-).
I’m mainly taking bookings now for 2025 & 2026 but do still have some limited availability for this year too … but I do now only shoot one wedding per weekend so dates can be very limited during peak times. So do get in touch asap guys to check my availability.
