Hi there, thanks for stopping by! I'm Mike, a "storytelling" wedding photographer, Falkirk based but covering all of Scotland and beyond. On more than one occasion I've been called a "photo ninja" and, honestly, that really is the way I work!

Low-key, in the background, documenting the day for the most part rather than directing it.

These days, I limit myself to just 25 weddings a year ... and I'd love one of them to be yours!

What is Storytelling Wedding Photography?

Storytelling, documentary, candid - it's been called many things but, in short, for the most part, it's a "fly on the wall" approach to documenting your wedding day, real stuff, not fabricated.

I'll still have an artistic hat on though and draw on all my experience to produce memorable pictures that tell the real story of your day ... honest, funny, quirky, emotional, all the good stuff (and sometimes the not quite so good) ... pictures that will take you back to that day and remind you exactly what it felt like, not just what it looked like!

And the beauty to this approach? Well, you get to spend more time with your family and friends rather than being directed to pose here, stand there, do this, do that etc etc ... I'll just let the day flow and you enjoy the party!!!

Pictures for the Wall?

Of course, I absolutely recognise that you will still want some family group shots and some shots of you, the couple, on your own, and that's no problem - I call these "pictures for the wall". Actually, a little time on your own, away from the crowd, is not a bad thing anyway!

But these are still done in a natural style - find a spot, light it and let you run with it - just be yourselves. Of course, I have a few tricks up my sleeve to help things along if needed.

So yes, if you want them I do make time for some, shall we say, slightly "set-up" shots but the emphasis is very much on "short & sweet" ... fifteen minutes ...done!

I don't think I've ever seen a couple enjoy ploughing though a seemingly never ending list of shots to order and, with me, you never will!
